Future flood‑risk calculations identified through FAIR highlighted an increased level of risk in the area. Residents and councillors reported several historical flooding events which resulted in school closures. In response, the FAIR Project worked collaboratively with local authority management to investigate these risks and explore appropriate flood‑water and asset‑management solutions. This page outlines how these risks were assessed and the actions taken to address them.
Community engagement events hosted by FAIR also highlighted secondary impacts of flood water on highways, creating restricted access for vehicles, which can prevent residents from entering or leaving the village safely. This page explores how the FAIR Project has intervened so far to better understand these challenges and reduce their impact.
